This time as Keswick HC - The County teams involved will be from Northumberland, Lincolnshire, Isle of Man, RAF & of course Cumbria. Any outside contacts looking for further information please email Steve Hornsby of Cumbria HA on robleywhisk@tiscali.co.uk in the first inst.

The weekends pool group was won by Lincolnshire having won all 4 of their games, Cumbria finished as runners up (best result for a long time!) - only a goal from a penalty corner after the final whistle in the very last match robbing Cumbria of 3 wins & a probable place in the Division C semi-finals with it!

Our U16 Girls were magnificient in their game against Wakefield HC, they never gave up at all - they gave their all - 110% the whole game - we are all very very proud of you and you should be proud of yourselves too!

Us men that followed you did something similar - we lost 9-2 to a very good Ben Rhydding side - who were faster, fitter, more skilfull and younger than we were - but again we gave it all we could, took no prisoners as they say but even at our age hopefully some players still learn! and our Lass's Development team defeated Lancaster Ladies 2-0 to extend their good run and remain top of the Netherwood League - a superb team performance with Emily Penny & Cath Hadfield adding the goals.

Shockingly there are STILL some club members who do not have a 100 club number!! Not good enough. Louisa Burton is the administrator (contact details on the club contacts page of the site) or you can speak to your team captain. It's a great fundraiser and we need you all involved. If you'd prefer we can put the match fees and subs up again? Choice is yours!

James Bond Casino Night!

Tickets are now on sale for the clubs "James Bond" Casino Night! It will be held at Hundith Hill Cockermouth. Starts 7:30pm on Saturday 11th September 2010. Tickets are priced at £20 and for that you get a superb Hot Buffet, Disco and some free chips to start your evenings entertainment. This event is limited to those of you lucky enough to be older than 16! The James Bond themed fancy dress is entirely optional but there will be a prize awarded to the best! Groups bookings are taken and the event is open to people outside the club so please bring your friends, work colleagues etc... It promises to be a fantastic fundraiser for the club and I expect tickets to sell out. If you can't go please encourage others to attend so we can make the most of this opportunity to raise some money for the club. If you would like to attend please contact me on 01900 825441 or speak with Rikki Barnes, Tracey Harrison or Ian Blamire who will also soon be selling tickets.

Next round of draws have taken place for the England Hockey National Competitions & the teams we've entered have faired as follows:-

KWC U18 Boys - Plate - very sadly our we had to forfeit this fixture as the club were unable to raise a full side - it's the first time any team has had to do this and I find it very disappointing - our reward for a victory would have been a home draw with Alderley Edge HC - hopefully England Hockey won't invoke the rule that states "any team who forfeits a game in the National Competitions - the club can be precluded from entering in future years"!!! Would be a great shame on the other successful teams that have entered for many years and would certainly make myself very angry.

Keswick U16 Girls - 6th December home to Wakefield U16 Girls - 1pm start

Masters Vintage Plate - home draw with Chester HC on 29th November pb 12-15 - this was played at Penrith last Sunday - and after a 2-2 draw our 'oldies' sadly went out on strokes!

Masters Veterans Cup - after successfully defeating the mighty Cannock HC - rewarded by a home draw with Ben Rhydding HC (another very hot side!) on 6th December pb 14-30 - Happy days and plenty of competative games at all levels.
